In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, players can race every course at two different speeds: 150cc and 200cc.
I charted the relationship between the world record times at 150cc and 200cc and perfomed a linear regression. This shows the relationship between the times as the speed of the carts increases, which while linear, has many outliers.
These are courses where the higher speed creates previously unachievable shortcuts, or has less of an impact becuase the player is always turning and reaches top speed less often.
